Carlos "El Famoso" Hernandez
Carlos Hernández was born on January 23, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. He is a retired Salvadoran American boxer. On Feb. 1, 2003 he made boxing history by becoming the first ever world champion from El Salvador. Hernandez moved to the United States in 1991 to reach his goal of becoming a champion, he has a record of 39 wins, 4 losses and one draw with 23 knockouts. In 2001 he fought the fight of his life against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather suffered the first knockdown of his career, Hernandez tried his best throughout the full 12 rounds but Mayweather proved to be the better man. Although Hernandez lacks the physical prowess, talent, speed, and power. He simply overachieved. He's a determined man. Training hard, working hard and fighting like it's his last. In 2008, he announced his retirement.
